198 Squadron 1944 Manston - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Hi guys

I have a photograph depicting RAF Manston's 'Scoreboard' 1941-1945, on which is shown 4 V-1s kills for 198 Squadron's Typhoons. I have no record of these - have you?

Hi Stephen - not yet but plan to do so soon. It's just that I have no record of this unit operating against V-1s.

Hmmm, I wonder if one of the personalities on the squadron, maybe the C.O., bagged four V-1s? Anyways, it should be an interesting search and if you come up with any dope, let us know. Thanks.

Brian: Didn't I send you the photocopy of the Manston score book; cannot find any 198 Sqn mention re.V1s

Yes, you did - but the photograph shows 4 for 198 Squadron! Hope to clarify tomorrow.
