RAF No.4 ferry unit ww2
Hello all
Where can I find information about this No 4 unit in ww2 (book...) I have loss of Spitfire on 18.02.45. (ferry flight Catania -Foggia, loss of orientation due to bad weather). Pilot was Lt. Kanyon. According to information pilot "bailed out" near Slano (near Dubrovnik, Croatia). Unfortunately I don't have any information than this (no. serial...) Does this unit have digitized ORB. as always thanks in advance Antun |

Re: RAF No.4 ferry unit ww2
AIR 29/454 covers this unit but is not digitized.
Pilot was Lt I.D. Kenyon (SA 581628V) and the serial in the ORB is NH543 which can't be true as it was last on September 1st 1944 with 127 Squadron. John Engelsted |

Re: RAF No.4 ferry unit ww2
Hello John,
I have recently looked at the 127 Sqn ORB for September 1st 1944 and found that the a/c that was used by F/Sgt. Housden was PT819, and that of F/Lt. McNally was PT823. Which could mean that NH543 is after all correct for Lt. Kenyon. see here - http://discovery.nationalarchives.go...ils/r/D8436755 Alex |
