unidentified German aircraft - 30/31 July 1942 - Orleans airfield, destroyed earlier hours on the morning of the 31 July?

Any takers? Apparently twin engine and caught fire.

Hello Danny,

GQM loss return 3 Aug 1942 item 100:
31.7. IV./KG 40 Feindflug, Ort: Flugplatz Orleans-Bricy, Ursache: Bruchlandung infolge Nachtjägerbeschuss, Flugzeug am Boden ausgebrannt. Fw 200 C-3 0030 100%. Beide Flugzeugführer verletzt.

Seem to remember I covered this in my Fw 200 book so will check when back home. Not sure it was an operational flight-IV Gruppe & well away from usual AOO

31 Jul 42 11./KG 40 Fw 200 C-3, 0030, SG+KF. Attacked by Wg Cdr B R O'B Hoare/Plt Off G E Cornes in Mosquito DD670/S, 23 Sqn, 0145 hrs. Crash-landed and burnt out at Orléans. Oblt Hermann Frenzel-1 F & Uffz Paul Boller-2 F-inj.

Sorry no but I do have generic photos of IV./KG 40. Boller was killed flying with 7./KG 40 exactly a year later
