Re: 301. „Polish“ squadron RAF
Bomber Command only covered units based in the UK.
As far as I know, no RAF units were operated under the control of the 15thAF Any RAF units, including PAF ones, would have operated under the Mediteranean Allied Air Forces, possibly Desert Air Force (which I believe was 1st Tactical Air Force officially at this time) or perhaps Balkan Air Force. As an SOE unit I doubt that it came under 205 Bomber Group, but perhaps it did administratively. Beyond that I can't say with access to better sources. |

The only special duties unit listed separately (i.e. not part of a Group or Wing) in a MATAF (i.e. Tactical AF) order of battle for 1945 was the US 2641 st Special Group (H) Prov. |

Re: 301. „Polish“ squadron RAF
Hi Peter,
334 (Special Duties) Wing RAF had 1586 Polish Flight later to become 301 Polish Squadron with Halifaxes and Liberators at Brindisi - I have more details on the Wing at home if relevant. |
