Re: Bf 109 WNr. 8129?

First 35% damaged on 010741 /Texel by landing I.JG52, then on 070242 by 8.JG51 in Szawinki 100 % emergency landing following ennemy action, both no casualties

Re: Bf 109 WNr. 8129?

Hello Jim,

I've filed Wnr 8129 as it made a crashlanding on 1st July 1941 at 14.30 hrs at airfield De Vlijt (Texel), The Netherlands. It then belonged to 1./JG52 and carried out a mission from Eelde (Groningen) that day to intercept 3 Stirlings on a daylight attack on the seaplane base of Borkum.

During the ensuing air combat rear gunner P/O J. L. A. Mills of Stirling N6005 MG-G claimed a Bf.109. In fact no Bf.109 was lost and his claim might have concerned Wnr 8129 which was damaged enough to make a crashlanding. Damage was reported as 35% and the involved pilot was Fw Georg Brey.

Unfortunately I've no fuselage code, perhaps Jim P. will show up with additional info from his extensive archive?

What's your particular interest in this specific Bf.109 if I may ask?

Best regards,
Hans Nauta

Re: Bf 109 WNr. 8129?

hi,
thanks for the information on wnr. 8129. a friend of mine has a letter from an luftwaffe mechanic where these data is written with a pencil, maybe as a notice or something. it has nothing to do with the letter itself.
regards
jim
