Norwegian pilot Helge O. Mehre, 242 Sqn, 21 June 1941

I'm looking for all the information I can get about the Norwegian pilot Helge O. Mehre and the Messerschmitt 109 that he reported damaged on 21 June 1941, while flying with No. 242 Squadron, RAF.

Is there anyone who has access to such information?

On 21 June 1941, the RAF claimed 29 Bf 109s destroyed, 5 more probably destroyed and 11 damaged. The Luftwaffe suffered 9 destroyed and 4 damaged so to tie down Mehre's Bf 109 is all but impossible. Mehre gets a mention in Aces High should you need to know more about him

Christer,

See also the book Spitfire, by Helge Mehre, published in 1982 by Universitetsforlaget. 137 pages, in Norwegian. ISBN ISBN 82-00-06284-8.

Enjoy!

Frank.
