Fridolin
I've found several references to "Fridolin" and "Fafnir" (which I take to be a beacons) being used as waypoints for IX. Fliegerkorps night bombers in the Normandy Campaign in Summer 1944.
Does anyone know their locations?

Hafner, schweres Funfeuer. Standort Falaise. Fridolin, Vielstrahlbaake Standort Jobourg/Cotentin

I've now found a German-language reference for beacons in France: http://www.atlantikwall.info/radar/france/rf_.htm The trick was to google "Funkfeuer Fafnir Frankreich".
