820th and 832nd Engineer Aviation Battalion (August 1944)

Hello/bonjour,

I am looking for information regarding the reconstruction of Rennes airfield (A-27), France in early August 1944 by the 820th Engineer Aviation Battalion and later the 832nd Engineer Aviation Battalion. I saw that there were two booklets telling the History of this last unit; do the latter give any information about Rennes?

Best regards,
Frederic

Frederic,

I noticed that on Airforcehistoryindex.org microfilms are available for 832nd EAB for August 1944.
You can request the documents to be mailed to you in a zip-file.

Search for "0832/Engineer Aviation" in desired timeframe (US date system).

820th EAB just for three days in Rennes?

Regards,
Leendert

Re: 820th and 832nd Engineer Aviation Battalion (August 1944)

Leendert, thank you for this way to find detail/information.

According to the dates I noted the 820th EAB arrives on August 7 and leaves on August 15. The 832nd EAB arrives on August 11 and leaves on September 2. The period being short for both EABs, and as there are two booklets' History for the 832nd EAB, I was wondering if there was any text for the latter regarding its presence in Rennes.

Best regards,
Frederic
