Hs 126 loss on 10-Aug-1943

In one of III. Pz.Korps diaries (T312/201/00569) I found following entry -

10/8/1943 FS SS-Div. Totenkopf
1430 Uhr eigene Hs 126 über Alexandrowka südl. Bogoduchow abgeschossen. 2 Mann Besatzung auf russ. Gebiet abgesprungen.

What came as the surprise is that there are no Aufklärer losses, that I am aware of, recorded on that day, instead Hs 126 (1151) of 1. Störkampfst./Lfl.4 was missing in Pl.Qu. 5178/35 Ost (close enough to the place from Totenkopf report).

Can anyone confirm there were no further Hs 126 losses in the area on 10-Aug-1943? The only other unit in question would probably be 5.(H)/32.

regards,
Pawel

Re: Hs 126 loss on 10-Aug-1943

Hi, Pawel

As far as I can read from my documents, neither 5.(H)/32 nor the unit commanding them at this time (NAGr.6) has reported any losses on this day.

Regards,
Andreas

I'd say 'nuisance bomber squadron within Luftflotte 4', usually operating at dusk or at night.

regards,
Pawel
