Enemy Aircraft Servicing and Storage Unit (EASSU) in Hamburg

Hi guys

I just bought a fascinating artefact, the RAF Flight Authorisation Log Book for the Enemy Aircraft Servicing and Storage Unit (EASSU) in Hamburg from October 1945 to July 1946. It's not in my hands yet, but will be soon.

I am planning to transcribe the entries and make the material available - that's all I can say for now!

What I would like to do in the interim is find out more about the EASSU. Are there any authors or researchers who are considered to be an authority on the subject? I have tried numerous times to contact Phil Butler (of 'War Prizes' fame) without success, but there must be others who can help. Are there any good books on the subject. I do have the latest edition of 'War Prizes' but haven't checked whether there's information within.

Any help appreciated
Rich

I don't have a contact for him but the War Prizes author is Phil Butler, which may help your search.

I've copied the EASSU ORB at Kew. If you're interested, drop me a line.
