Ginger Lacey Spitfire MKV
Dear All,
in June 1941, famous RAF fighter ace James "Ginger" Lacey flown Spitfires Vb like this one coded SD-L (maybe serial number R7057). click here to see the photo There is a writing under the cockpit, last letters are "ness" (or "mess"); have you any idea about what could be written? Thanks, Flavio |

Air Britain has recently published a book about presentation a/c "Gifts of War" by Henry Boot and Ray Sturtivant. This lists R7057 as a presentation a/c "Caithness I". Steve |
