4./JG 3 and Uffz. Thomas Ametsbichler

Hello!
This pilot was shot down and killed by Flak on the 18. July 1943 near Bjelgorod.
He was flying a Me 109 G-6, Wnr. 20199.
Does anyone know the code of his plane and eventually if he had any air victories!
I have a picture of him and would like to find out more if possible.
Thank You in advance
Christian

Re: 4./JG 3 and Uffz. Thomas Ametsbichler

Hello Christian,

Thomas was born on 13 Nov 1920 - on 18 July 43 he was shot down by Flak and crashed 12 km souhteast of Prochorowka at 06.46 hours. He flew Me 109G-6, w/nr 20199 and marking "weisse 12". He had taken off on 06.10 hours together with his Rottenflieger Leutnant Hermann Schuster from Feldflugplatz Ugrim for "freie Jagd an der Panterspitze". Could only find 2 claims - the last on 5 July 43 a Pe-2.

Hope this info helps - can you please contact me off board.

Thanks
Regards,
Rob
