15./SG 151 Maj. Ottmar Willmann

I'm doing research on a couple Stuka units and I'm hoping someone can assist in my quest. I've found a couple sources that indicate the squadron code for SG 151 may have been 6Q. Can anyone confirm this? Also, is there a list of JU-87 D-5s by work number that served with the squadron and the plane codes?

Thank you!

6Q was the SG 151 code but it seems that they didn’t follow the standard scheme. They made the third character the Staffel letter and the fourth the letter of the individual aircraft. Lovro Persen has written a book about 13./SG 151 in Yugoslavia: Guerrilla Nightmare.

If you want a list of SG 151 aircraft, I think you’ll have to compile your own but Persen’s book should help, also the Luftflotte 6 files for 1945 (free downloads from the Bundesarchiv in the RL7-6/ series). Also I collected a few here: http://www.ghostbombers.com/NSG%209/communications.html

The other place to look is the Luftwaffe Quartermaster General’s loss records. See the “sticky” thread at the top of this board, GQM Verluste und Unfälle, for a list of references. Again all or most of them are downloadable.

Here are three that I noted down (there may be others but I was more interested in the Geschwader's Fw 190s):

27.1.45 15./SG 151 H Bei Heiligenstadt Notldg. inf. Motorstörung
 Ju 87 G-2 494211 20 Er - - -

6.3.45 15./SG 151 H nördl. Dedelstorf Absturz inf. Bedienungsfehler Ju 87 D-5 141957 100
Fw. Bernbusch (?), Josef F 1 - -
Uffz. Appell, Heinz Bf 1 - -

7.3.45 15./SG 151 F bei Dedelstorf Absturz inf. Bordwaffenbesch.(nicht feindb.) Ju 87 D-5 141740 100
Fw. Gläser (?), Rudolf F 1 - -
Uffz. Klein, Werner Bf 1 - -

Who was Ottmar Willmann? Did he survive WWII? What did he do after the war?
