Airco DH.4 / serial A7498
Hi all,
I am trying to confirm the loss of DH.4 serial A7498 as I believe this was destroyed? It served with No. 18 Squadron, that is all I know. Also, where was No. 18 Squadron based in August 1917? Thanks in advance. Regards Danny

Re: Airco DH.4 / serial A7498
From a 2019 post on theaerodrome.com: Capt Thomas Frederick Wailes Thomson (Ok) & 2nd-Lieut Leslie Oliver Stocken (Ok), 18 Sqn, DH4 A7498 - overran aerodrome into corn and ran into shell hole during practice landings
This on 5 August 1917. No. 18 Squadron was at La Bellevue, east of Doullens, France in Aug 1917. Leendert |

Stig,
Indeed. For RFC serials this website I had overlooked is helpful: http://www.airhistory.org.uk/rfc/aircraft.html Leendert |
