Luftwaffe loss 25 or 26 july 1941 outside Dover

Hello,
I'm trying to verify a claim on a German plane made by a allied ship outside Dover harbour in either july 25, 1940.

Any suggestions on candidates?

You could try the Admiralty War Diary for those dates: https://sccd.royalnavy.mod.uk/-/medi...03e2edbdee5f76

Thanks for the repiies: I got the year mixed up. It was 1940, not 1941, sorry about that.

AFAIK the losses of Stukas from LG 1 og StG 1 against Convoy C.W. 8 are only credited to figthers, is this correct?

In that case, try the Luftwaffe daily situation reports for 6 July to 4 August 1940, here: https://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/...de/grid/zoom/1

A translation of the Situation Report states an attack 5km SE Folkestone in 2 waves between 1600-1730hrs and then an attack off Dover 1830hrs. Two Bf 109s were lost over the sea as were two Stukas. Another two Bf 109s were also lost time uncertain so to tie down this Flak claim is hard

Thanks to the both of you. My main interest is the attacks on C.W. 8.

Chris: the problem with the German sources in this case is they hardly differentiate the cause of loss during a larger convoy battle as you mention.

Could there be any british sources available that breaks down the various claims that day?

There were 34 claims by fighters for German aircraft in this area that day of which around 23 met the timescales I wrote......................
