Uffz. Erwin Grossmann, 11./JG 51

Hello everyone,
Uffz. Erwin Grossmann (born 1921) from 11./JG 51 was captured (originally MIA) when he was shot down behind Russian lines near Nevel, and his 190 A-4, W.Nr. 142362, black 6 + +, was captured in good condition, it was only the second such captured Fw 190 in Russia. How was it shot down? By a fighter or flak? After its capture, the aircraft was flown by many pilots of the Soviet Aviation Research Institute. Did it land normally on its landing gear or did it make an emergency landing on its belly? Even though in the famous photo taken in Russian captivity, his Fw 190 is without a scratch. Did Uffz. Grossmann survive Soviet captivity and return home after the war?
Thank you very much, have a nice day.

Yes, July 12, 1943, sorry for forgetting the date. Desertion, right? Interesting..., that's why his Fw 190 was untouched. Do we know which Soviet base he landed at? Thank you.
