Otto Gaiser

Hello

In the new Osprey book of JG 51 there is a photograph of what is said to be Fw 190 A-4 "White 10" flown by Unteroffizier Otto Gaiser (66 victories, RK, missing in action 22 January 1944) of 10./JG 51 at Bryansk in March 1943 following an apparent taxiing accident. Is there any record of this incident in JG 51 loss records? Unfortunately I do not have a specific date. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Otto Gaiser

The only thing to remember with John's reply - I do not think Gaiser's name was in the original loss. That name was attached via the Meyer/Stipdonk photo book of JG 51 from VDM. The WNr. was visible in the photo so was matched to the loss. This book is still a worthwhile pickup if you can get it.

Otto Gaiser

Hi Jim and John

Many thanks for the heads-up on this photograph. So it is not established 100% that Gaiser was the pilot but there exists the possibility that he was. Many thanks for this clarification. I very grateful to both of you for your aid.

Horrido!

Leo
