Re: Photos + 12-2
Hi Ed,
the first of the miscellaneous group [m=130054767931] is the same ex-Austrian Air Force Caproni Ca 133 (re-coded 'WL-AHSQ') as on page 360 of 'Luftwaffe Camouflage & Markings, Vol.2' - that Ken Merrick wierdly identified as an Avia F 39. Cheers GrahamB |

Re: Photos + 12-2
Regarding the Me 262, this is a new one to me. I'll give the rough translation first:
"Still another photo of the Me 262. Here when starting and/or taking off. One was offered the probably seltenests (ed:?) photos ever with Ebay directly from the deduction (ed: estate?) of the Brilliantenträger Walter Nowotny. Extremely rare airplane photo of a Messerschmitt Me 262 on the runway when starting, in the back with original marking of secret. No photos could be made of these machines with death penalty. This and some other photos (shortly in another auction) with warranty from the deduction (ed: estate?) of Walter Nowotny. Format 120mm/80mm. Very rare and beautiful admission of good quality. Lifelong warranty on originality before 1945 enstanden (very probably 1943) (ed:no way in 1943, would be late 44 or 45) which concerns photo and stamped secret. Attention XXL picture with it everything good recognize can. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Extremely rare original!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" OK. with the colored nose and since it's an A-2a with the bomb racks, or an A-1a/jabo, I can't see how many cannon ports, it's most likely KG 51, possibly KG(j) 54. To bad I can't see the stkz. It is taking off, not landing, as the later model larger front tire is retracting. Amazing how this stuff keeps popping up. |

Re: Photos + 12-2
Thank you gents. Based on my research, "nachlass" means estate, and "seltenes" means rare.
I have a large book about German radio controlled demolition vehicles. The author points out that the operators were forbidden to photograph them but about two hundred photos appear. So, perhaps the owner of these "forbidden" photos now feels safe to releae them. Regards, Ed |
