Luftwaffe Loss over England -30th July 1940
Hi,
Please could anyone provide more details over the loss of Feldwebel Martin Eiblmeier who was killed over England on 30th July 1940. I believe he was in a bomber squadron and have looked in the obvious places to find more information about him but without luck. With thanks and merry Christmas Rick |

Re: Luftwaffe Loss over England -30th July 1940
Hi,
The follwoing information comes from the KG53 unit history by Heinz Kiehl (published by Motorbuch Verlag): He flew with 2./KG53 as a Bordmechaniker. On 21 November 1939 he flew a mission from 1713-2115 hours to drop propaganda leaflets over France with the crew: Ofw.Zinner (FF), Oblt.Bäss (Beob.) and Fw.Zickler (BF). He was reported missing in action on 29 July 1940, He111H-2 shot down by RAF fighters, into the North Sea off Lowestoft, at 1445 hours. Lt.Otto Kliffgen (FF), Fw.Erhard Knobloch (Beob.) and Gfr.Herbert Keil (BS) all killed. Gfr.Heinz Fricke (BF) missing. Hope this helps, Mike |

Rick,
Some additional info to that from Michael. Battle of Britian Then and Now attributes the loss to action by Blue Section of 66 Squadron - Pilot Officers Oxspring, Pickering and Studd. Merry Christmas
