What if Wilhelm Böing...

never emigrated from Germany to America? His son, William (Wilhelm II), would presumably have developed an interest in aviation living in Germany, as he did living in America. Would he have gone on to design planes for the Kaiser during WWI, and then gone on to become one of the German aviation giants like Heinkel, Dornier, Messerschmitt et al? Would the Luftwaffe have been flying Bö 17s or Bö 29s? Just wondering...

Re: What if Wilhelm Böing...

A little too remote from reality.

If your parents had emigrated to New Zealand, would you still have posted this thread?!

Moving to the off topic forum.

Re: What if Wilhelm Böing...

Sorry Ruy if this was on the wrong forum, I haven't posted here long and was not aware this would be classified as off topic. However, I don't understand your reasoning in regards to my parents. To answer your strange question, yes I would have posted this thread if my parents emigrated to New Zealand. I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but how is this related to where I posted my thread? Do you not have any New Zealand members here? Do you think I wouldn't be interested in the Luftwaffe if I lived in New Zealand? I am confused by your reply. If you must know, my fathers side of the family emigrated to Australia from Germany after the war, my paternal grandfather spent over 10 years in Siberia, and wasn't released till 1955. However, I'm grateful my thread is still here! I have long thought about if Boeing stayed in Germany, surely he would still have developed an interest in aircraft design. I have posted this on five boards, three have been good, one had it moved to a different forum, and one board moderator didn't like it in that boards 'what if' forum, and banned it! Figure that one out! Thanks for leaving it on this board mate!
