PHOTO OF MY FATHER, HAUPTMANN HELMUT BLANK

I'm hoping someone has suggestions how I might obtain a photo of my father (I never knew him--he's named on my birth certificate, and that's all I have). Through various other forums (Feldgrau) I've learned that he was a Company Commander. I have the Regiment number, Feldpost number and Code Designation and location in Austria. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

As he was a regimental commander, there is a chance that some book may bring his picture. At this forum there are a lot people with extensive picture files.

Also, I would try to contact the Bundesarchive. Or, if he is listed as KIA or MIA, you could also try to contact the www.volksbund.de .
