Stamping "BES 325"
Gentlemen,
some weeks ago an old farmer showed me very small steel and aluminium parts of a crashed a/c of unknown identity. He mentioned a crashed Bf 109 in this area. The only visible stamping upon an aluminium part is "BES 352" in an oval in letters of 2 mm heights. The only crashed a/c I know about was a Lanc on 1st march 1945. Is there any possibilety to identify this stamping as German or British? Best Regards Heuser |

Re: Stamping "BES 325"
Hi.
I would not be able to speculate with regards to origin. However, the letter code 'bes' was the Fertigungskennzeichen of Dr. Ing. H. Kimmel Fernmeldetechnisches Entwicklungslaboratorium, located in Munich. From my interpretation this would then probably be a subassembly delivered by this company as part of some radio equipment. Or it could have some other origin. Regards, Andreas B |

Re: Stamping "BES 325"
Andreas,
thank you very much for your reply. So this should be in fact the crashplace of a German a/c. Recently I found a D.R.P. mark ("Deutsches Reichspatent") upon another part, further two nuts are in size M5. But I've no idea about the identity of this a/c... Best Regards Alexander |
