Opinions on Strong Foundations: Driffield aerodrome book

Hello
I’m looking for opinions on Strong Foundations: Driffield's Aerodrome from 1917 to 2000 by Geoff Simmons, Barry Abraham. Hutton Press Ltd ISBN: 1902709136.

Actually my main interest is the attack on the airfield on 15.8.40 by KG 30. How much there is in the book on this attack and how good is the info? Only the usual or much new info from ORBs (station’s, 73, 616 and 219 Sqns’, AA batteries’)? What opinion the writers have on Ju 88A vs Ju 88C controversy? From where one can buy it in London?

TIA
Juha

Not exactly your main enquiry but I do have some details on 219 Squadron "A" Flights involvement on 15.8.1940

Hello Norman
thanks for that. When I'll get reoriented from my recent projects back to Driffield, I'll contact You. Luckily I had copies on 73 Sqn ORB on that day but not on 219 Sqn ORB so Your info will be helpful to me. I have meanwhile got a copy of Strong Foundations besides a couple other books on air war over Yorkshire and I also took photos of Driffield ORBs for first 1½ years of war during my last visit in PRO/NA. So I will go through my material and then contact You.

Thankfully
Juha
