Bf 109 loss 15/8/42.
Hi Guys.
I previously asked help about a Macchi loss on this date in the Mersa Metruh area, and got an answer. There is still a problem.A 15 Sqdn gunner was credited with a kill and our WD report states that an enamy a/c was seen to be on fire and fell into the sea.It was credited and I presume therefor confirmed. I got info that the 2 Macchi's that attacked the convoy landed damaged. Can anybody help me and see if the Germans posted a loss of a Bf 109. Two 109's from III/JG53 were despatched and attacked the formation but I do not have a report that they landed safely. Thanks Stefaan
