Spitfire IX MH473/MK473/NH473
Hi guys
One of the above three was flown by Flt Lt Togs Mellersh of 96 Squadron to shoot down two V-1 flying bombs on the night of 7/8 August 1944. Although a Mosquito pilot, he borrowed the Spit IX from a unit based at Ford. It was listed as '473' without its prefix. Any ideas? Cheers Brian |

Re: Spitfire IX MH473/MK473/NH473
Hello again Brian,
I've checked the RAF Aircraft MA100-MZ999 and NA100-NZ999 of Air Britain: MH473: 485/NFDW To 6142M 10.10.46 for RDAF MK743: 243/87 Missing, presumed shot down by flak on armed reconnaissance, 27.2.45 NH473: 132/33/411 damaged in accident 20.4.45. NFD Of above units only teh Night Fighter Development Wing was based on Ford, so it seems to me MH473 is the only likely candidate.
