Jim P. will become famous soon enough
Re: Werner Kraft, 9/JG 26

Caldwell's 2 volume JG 26 War Diary would have that information.

Hi Co,

Caldwell lists the claim was for a B-17 e.V., S.E. of Turnhout at 11:45, he identifies the unit as possibly 95BG.

Best Regards

Re: Werner Kraft, 9/JG 26

Claim (?) on B-17 by Werner Kraft Aug.17-1943:

Tony Wood-claimlist, Priller and Caldwell as wel as the Burkert-familyalbum give 'only' a OKL-confirmed B-17 claim to his collegue 9/JG26 Lt. Erich Burkert, that hour, that day, that region, that time of day.
Though Kraft ( he himself also wounded in the same Beverloo-hospital)stated to one of the B-17-survivers (Binnebose)he was involved in the downing of 95BG/335BS-B-17 42-30274 over Mol-Dessel and was shotdown by it's tailgunner: > any Lw.official confirmation from another source?
Or could it be a "possible" 'claim' ?

Thanks i.a. for next reaction.
Co.

Co.
Caldwell lists the claim as as having an unknown confirmation status. Kraft's claim was for finishing off the bomber ie endgültige Vernichtung (e.V.) after it had already been shot out of formation.
