Markings of 4./SG5 after transfer/redesignation from 14.(J)/JG5
When 14/J)/JG5 was redesignated 4./SG5 did they change the way the planes were marked? Typical schlachtgeschwader markings would be letters rather than numbers, right?
There's a picture in the back of Mombeeks JG5 History Part 1 showing an FW190A or F with a white M and bar after the cross. I just wondered if this could be verified as an SG5-machine. Also, is it known if they retained the "bomb & bow" insignia on the cowling? Regards, Kyrre
