Hurricane V7228
Can anybody confirm the fate of Hurricane V7228?
Men of the Battle of Britain gives it as crashing at Edenbridge Kent on the 17th September 1940 whils being piloted by P/O Dunscombe of 312 Squadron. Air Britain Royal Air Force Aircraft V1000 to V9999 give it as serving with 213 Squadron & being SOC on the 13th August 1940. I have also been told that it crashed at Folly Hill Colliers Green near Goudhurst Kent on the 17th September & the remains were recovered some years ago. Can anybody confirm which of the above (if any) are correct? Many thanks in advance Trevor Matthews |
