Dornier Do 17E-3 (W. Nr. 3003, NA+EU)

Hello,
does anybody know more about this Do 17? Only information I got is from a Russian monography about the type (Eksprint, 2003) and certain website (airpages.ru) where the said plane (shown on photograph) is described as Do 17E-3, forcelanded on 21st March 1941 near Belorussian small town Cechanovec. The machine probably belonged to KFS 4 in Toruń (Thorn) and after landing was tested in the NII VVS, then returned back to Germans. What makes me wonder is the W. Nr. 3003 - it mismatch the Do 17E/F Werknummer blocks I found on this forum (the block 3001 - 3131 was reserved for the subtype E-1 made in license by Henschel).
There is also another Do 17E-1 probably of KFS 3 at Warsaw-Okecie which forcelanded in the West Belorussia one day before.

I will appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance
Martin Nový

Re: Dornier Do 17E-3 (W. Nr. 3003, NA+EU)

DO17E went at least to 3125 from 3000
On 15.feb 41 a DO17E 3002 fall down at Thorn bei low flight reported 80 % destroyed , no code reported so not missed... 2 dead 1 wounded
the day before nothing

But on 20.feb 41 a DO17 3114 after ground contact crashed killing the 3 crew 95 % damaged

all belong to Gr.KFS4

Gr.KFS3 lost a Ju34-w34 on 17.febr. at Warschau

Re: Dornier Do 17E-3 (W. Nr. 3003, NA+EU)

Thanks for the replay and new information, Remi.
The problem is stilI the correct assigning of Werknummer blocks to the subtypes Do 17E-1, E-2, E-3, F-1, F-2 (this applies also to M-1, P and Z versions including subtypes). I got another information about the parts of Do 17E-2 (W. Nr. 897 - according to the factory shield) found in Poland in the Świdnica County (near villages Zawiszów, Bojanice, Bystrzyca Górna). The unit is unknown.
So, I will keep on research.

Best regards
Martin
