Schröder KG30, NJG2, NJG3, NJG11

Hello,

Some time ago I received a group of documents that belonged to a member of Kommando Welter NJG11 that flew Me 262 jets at the end of the war.

I am not sure whether he was a pilot or a observer, however according to the Wehrpass he was awarded the Frontflugspange für Nachtjäger in Silber in March 1945. Therefore, I assume he did fly.

Also, I found the text "Einweisung auf Strahflugzeuge" (briefing in jet airplanes) also in two other Wehrpass I own. I am wondering if this means that he actually flew them or was only theoretically instructed how to fly them. I assume he actually flew jets.

I couldn't find out anything about this pilot yet, but I was reading only about NJG11. Perhaps one of the member of TOCH finds a record about him in NJG2, NJG3 or KG30 documents. That would be great.

PS: It seems that this was a ground crew member rather than aircrew. I also have the first page of the Soldbuch where it should say "Fliegendes Personal" (aircrew), but it does not.

Hi Roger,

If he had the Frontflugspange in Silber he must have flown on ~60 missions

Hi Andy,

I am not sure about these awards, they might have been added after the war either by Schröder himself or by a dealer who wanted to increase the value of the Wehrpass. They are not confirmed by a stamp. In addition he was awarded the KvK which as far as I know was only given to civil people or people who were not in direct combat situations but contributed to the war otherwise.

Regards
Roger

It's a pity if the Wehrpass has been amended to increase its value.

Cheers
