Hi, folks...
Would any of you be able to assist me please...? I am building a model of a Do17P reconnaissance aircraft, which was operational with 1.(F)/123, probably during the campaign in the west. Unfortunately, I don't have the exact period in time.
Anyway, I have a photo of my chosen subject, sporting the 'Bubble Head' unit emblem (the large round-faced cartoon-style character, peering through a telescope) on the engine cowling, and also an additional marking on the nose - a man sitting astride a pencil, with a camera in his hand. This marking was set against a large white disc, immediately behind the nose section, and under the forward portion of the cockpit canopy.
I believe that this machine may have had the following crew members: Oberleutnant Höfer, Oberfeldwebel Rück and Feldwebel Reichelt.
Can anyone please provide the individual aircraft letter...? I presume the remainder of the code would be 4U+ ? H, the '?' either being white indicating 1.Staffel, or the more customary black, an anomaly often present on recconnaissance aircraft codes. A date and location would also be very welcome.
Thanks in advance...
