Crashplace of P-51 44-13719, 362.FS
Gentlemen,
is there anything known about the crashplace of H.D. Chandlers P-51 (362.FS, 44-13719) on 31.12.44? This a/c was damaged by Flak in the Koblenz area, but the final crashplace is unknown to me... Heuser |

I have for crash place near Mürlenbach D-54570 but in date of the 30/12/1944 # 44-13719 G4-G “Pitter Pat” 1st Lt Chandler Harold D. (KIA)O-708656 MACR 11172 Regards Phil |

This aircraft was hit during its mission and came down 450 Meters WNW of the little hamlit of Rom, which is a part of the village of Mürlenbach, County Daun, Germany. The German grid-coordinates of the crash were: 25 4770 East 55 5880 North Reference is here the German Katastrial System "Gauss-Krüger" in the Scale 1:100.000. You may find more information in the the German reports: - AV 1874/45 and - D.L. 69/168 which are located at The National Archives. All the best ! Horst Weber |
