Re: Strafing on April 1 1945
Michal,
I just got my copies of the 325th missions from February 1945 to the end of the war. The 325th did not strafe on 1 April 1945. The Group flew 3 missions that day: the first was 29 P-51s escorted B-24s to Graz. The weather was very bad and there was a lot of confusion. The 2nd mission was 28 P-51s escorting B-24s to bomb Bruck, Austria. The 3rd mission was 6 P-51s to escort a photo Mosquito but failed to make contact and the mission was cancelled after 2 hours. Sorry I do not know which group was levied a strafing mission. Cordially, Art Fiedler |
