Can anyone tell me if these serials #'s are 605A or 605D??

Hi!

I need to know if which model of 605 these are. Someone told me they did not look 605A.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello Harrison,

On the first photo shows according to the spare parts list an engine block (Kurbelgehäuse) of a DB 605 A/B.
3205.4 is the material - Al-Si-Mg alloy,
and "jjp" is the maker code - VDM Halbzeugwerke GmbH, Zweigniederlasung Hildesheim

The numbers on the second photo (605-103-001) could indicate a DB 605D engine block, but I'm not sure.

regards,
Tomislav

Re: Can anyone tell me if these serials #'s are 605A or 605D??

Hallo Harrison!
Yes, the 605.100 is a 605A listed part. Not sure about the 605.103 part.
Sure, it has 605D points( cast line at base and diamond-shaped tensionbar mounts) but, both the '42 and the '43 partslists show 605.100 for the kurbelgehause. The 605D partslist shows 605.105 (605.105.001) for the kurbelgehause. So, is it possible that the 605.103 is an intermediate standard? I am not sure yet-sorry, but I think it could be... best I can do at the moment I am afraid!
PS, have you any 605 parts for sale?
Best wishes, SM

Thanks guys...

hmmmm...any other ways of determining if it is a 605D?

Both are for sale. One (605A) is jsut the block. The other (possible 605D) is fairly complete...

PM me if interested...

Mike
