Re: Photos 8-17
After some discussion, some of us believe the first 109 in Ed's post is that of Obfw. Eugen Zweigart, 9./JG 54. He was known to favor "7". This might be his G-2 in Russia. On 27.07.43, he lost Bf 109G-6, WNr. 15 678, braun 7 + , a 100 % loss in LuftK at Norden, The Netherlands. He FSA'ed and was wounded. Anyone have some other thoughts?

Re: Photos 8-17
Simon,
You are absolutely right about the Junkers G31. ... Or what you wish to appear seems reality when you see it in a flash.... Thanks!

Re: Photos 8-17
Addenda to the previous post about the G-2 of 9./JG 54.
It could also be Siegfried. Müller. He was up around 15 victories by early September 1942, so that could well be him in the ge. 7 + ~. To make matters more interesting, S. Müller, now in 8./JG 54, FSA from a Bf 109G-6 in late Dec. 1943, slightly injured by a heavy landing. This was a sw. 7 +. He went down in a Dora 9 on 21 Feb. 1945. Ge. 10 + . Isn't this fun? ![]() |
