JG2 – 5 February, 1944

Hi,

I am looking for the JG 2 activity, on February 5th, 1944. This Group could have carried out an attack against a Combat Wing of B-17, South of Paris. I shall like to know what says about it the records or the Kriegstagebuch of this Group.
Merci.

All the best,
Frederic.

As mentioned, Klenke was MIA. Here is a little bit more information on his aircraft, taken from http://www.luftwaffe.be/miajg2.html:

05/02/44 Obgfr. Bernhard Klenke 7./JG 2 Bf 109 G-6 (20191) Orléans

Re: JG2 – 5 February, 1944

Hello,

I thank you for these answers.
These losses are perhaps the results of a fight with Fighter Groups below:
55th FG claims 2 Fw-190, 56th FG the loss of a one fighter and 353rd FG claims one Fw-190 and the loss of one fighter too. This day there, after all these bombardment missions onto various French airdromes, the "Withdrawal corridor" for “Big Friends” was crossing in this area.

All the best,
Frederic.
