Need ID of crash-landed He111 of KG 27 during 1940

Hi,

Hello,

I'm trying to code into a data base two photos of He111 1G+? of an unknown staffel of KG27. It made a good belly landing in a beet field, probably either in France or Belgium, during the spring or summer of 1940. Does not appear to carry a unit crest. Can anyone provide any further information that would help ID this loss? Location, date, crew names, Reason for loss?

Thanx,

Hello,

I work on the III. / KG 27 based at Rennes.
Your photos belong to a Heinkel, III. / Group.
1G +?
How do you get a copy of your two photos to identify them.
I have books by Walter Waiss on the KG 27.

Regards,

Dan

Re: Need ID of crash-landed He111 of KG 27 during 1940

Hello,

Just back from Christmas vacation, and am ready to go again. I have all of the books by Waiss and also those by Gillet. Dan, please contact me on the private message board and I'll send you scans of the photos. What is that basis for your suggestion for III Gruppe? If you are certain that this is III./KG27, we should be able to identify this one. Do you think that this crash is in Brittany?

Regards
