Passing of an 8th Air Force Legend - Major General Lewis E. Lyle

Hello All!!

During WWII, Major General Lewis E. Lyle recorded the highest number of combat missions ever recorded by one single B-17 pilot.

He flew 72 missions.....that they new about.

He was the Commander of the the 379th Bomb Group and 303rd Bomb Group, respectively. His courage and bravery was only out measured by his kindness and friendship.

Lew Lyle left this earth on Sunday, April 6th at the age of 91.
