Re: Sgt A Martin 264 Sqn
Chris,
According to my files he was Sgt A Martin in April 1941, and P/O A Martin in May, so a check of The Air Force List around that period might find him, especially if he has no middle name. His first claim was in Aug 1940, so Ken Wynn's Men of the Battle of Britain should have something (my copy has too many other books between it and me to fish it out). I show him as claiming 4/1/1 with Barwell and Curtice as his pilots. Hope this helps. Enjoy! Frank.

Re: Sgt A Martin 264 Sqn
"I see from my log—book that I flew P/O Carlin to Rochford. It may be that that was when he was posted to an-other squadron, but Carlin was one of three air-gunners in the Squadron who had been pilots in World War I,the others being P/O Maggs and P/O Martin."

According to Those Other Eagles by Christophers Shores the gunner claiming with Curtice was Sgt Charles Martin (1127873). Cheers, Peter |
