To what does the "JG NAGr" in Wood's list refer?
Hello all --
My previous post drew no replies -- maybe this will pique someone's interest. The unit referred to in this way in Tony Wood's claims list claimed a number of victories over western France on 31 Dec 43. What was this unit? Where was it based? Any help appreciated. Don |

Re: To what does the "JG NAGr" in Wood's list refer?
Don,
Am I looking at the right list (reichwest_vol4_1943.pdf)? I don't see what you're referring to on 31 December 1943. |

Thanks Nick - Problem Solved
The version of Woods' list I used to prepare my own victory list several years ago shows five claims for 31 Dec 43 for "JG NAGr." In Woods' latest version, which you reference, these have all been changed to "JGr. West". Several last names have been corrected (or at least changed) in the newest version, so I assume that the "JG NAGr" was a notional unit resulting from a problem reading the microfilm. I've got no excuse for not keeping up with the latest lists, especially since my partner Les Butler maintains the site they reside on, so.... Gads, we press on.
Horrido! Don |
