Re: KG 40 Airfields in France in 1941.
Hi Chris , thanks for your reply . Did this unit also operate from Brest, Brittany or Audierne ? A HE111 H-3 V4+DK of 3/KG40 crashed off the S.E. coast of Ireland on 6.5.41 , I was wondering where this plane was based .

Re: KG 40 Airfields in France in 1941.
3/KG 1 became 9/KG 40 so do not get confused by the codes. III/KG 40 (formerly I/KG 1) was based at Brest-Sud before moving to Schiphol in Aug 41

Many thanks Chris , you are right I did get my codes mixed up , I should have said III/KG40 . So was V4+DK based in Brest-Sud when it crashed off the Irish coast ?
