Need ID of German bomber Crashed & Burned Oudenaarde West Flanders Belgium during the WC

Hello,

This eBay loss is a mystery the EOE Working Group (WG) is trying to solve. This does not appear to be an He111, possibly a Do17 or Ju88? Can anyone help ID this incident, date, crew, etc? We know about the He111 from 4./KG54 (Uffz Moors) that some sources have claimed to have been down at this location, but we now know that Moors came down in France, not at Oudenaarde, Belgium. Who can help solve one?

Regards,

Looks like a Do 17 to me when comparing with other crash images.

Re: Need ID of German bomber Crashed & Burned Oudenaarde West Flanders Belgium during the WC

Hello,

Ed North has confirmed that this is not a Ju88, and also thinks it is a Do17, so now we know that we're looking for a Do17 loss in the Oudenaarde area of Belgium, probably in May, 1940. Does this narrow it down for anyone now?

Thanks for any halp,

Fredcompa,

Thanks for the info. We already had this along with a different location confirmed with this crash.
