Leon HAMPEL 782237, PAF, 6/7 May 1941
I have Hampel found on the beach at Eastbourne on 15 June 1941 and buried in Langney Cemetery, Eastbourne, although the Sikorski Institute say they have no knowledge of his burial place.
The Polish Casualties book 'Ku czi Poleglych Lotnikow 1939-1945" seems to be saying he is missing....but I am hampered by my lack of Polish! Can anyone throw some light? |

Hi Andy
Check out http://twgpp.org/information.php?id=1986403 There's a photo of his grave stone and the location of the grave within the cemetery. Dave Last edited by Dave Richardson; 17th July 2011 at 22:02. Reason: typo |
