Jagdgeschwader 11

Can anyone recommend any published books covering the history of Jagdgeschwader 11?

Any help whatsoever will be very well received indeed.

Regards Richard.

If you can read German, you should find a copy of jochen prien's "Jagdgeschwader 1 und 11: Einsatz in der Reichsverteidigung von 1939 bis 1945"

If you cannot read German, then the Kagero Air Minitures #30 'JG11' by Marek Murawski, but this is nowhere as detailed as Prien's book but more like the Osprey books.

Peter

Hi Richard,

If you're comfortable with German, another good resource is the series: "Die Jagdfliegerverbände der deutschen Luftwaffe 1934 bis 1945" by Jochen Prien et al.

Of the volumes published thus far, you'll find good coverage of JG 11 in numbers 10/I, 10/II, and 10/III.

Regards,
Leon Venter

Well be they ever so humble, I am actually hoping Osprey comes out with a JG-1/11 volume eventually.

Re: Jagdgeschwader 11

I actually hope that Osprey come out with JG77 as there is no English written book covering their history, whereas JG1 has the Mombeek trilogy and Kagero duo.

Peter

I wouldn't mind that either; however JG-11 IS a missing element for me...

Jagdgeschwader 11 Books

Gents

Thank you very much for the info.

My understanding of the German language is unfortunatly not good enough to fully appreciate a detailed and comprehensive tome in the form usually associated with Jochen Preins books.

However, I am grateful for the info on the 'Kagero Air Minitures 'JG11' by Marek Murawski', and I shall order a copy as a result.

I too hope that Osprey release a book on JG11, for the price paid I think these books are well worth the money.

Thanks again.

Regards Richard.

A copy of 'Kagero Air Minitures 'JG11' by Marek Murawski' has now duly arrived through the post, and I have to say for the very modest outlay, it is a very nice little book.

Regards Richard.
