P51 part: extinguisher top ?
Good evening,
you will see here attached the pictures of a strange part, coming from a P51D. I wonder what it could have been and I would have bet on an extinguisher upper part: your opinion, gents ? Thanks and good evening. GC Last edited by gilles collaveri; 18th December 2012 at 22:48. |

Re: P51 part: extinguisher top ?
no extinguisher in P-51. Could be a Hydraulic fluid resevoir (or not). 10 cm too small for oxygen bottle near tailwheel

Re: P51 part: extinguisher top ?
P-51 had an accumulator in the wheel well, but it doesn't appear the same.

Re: P51 part: extinguisher top ?
Hi guys,
I am happy to share with you the answer I finally got from P51 top experts: it is a fuel strainer. See drawing. all the best. GC Last edited by gilles collaveri; 18th December 2012 at 22:49. |
