Re: Tempest 274. Sqn 21.Feb.45 Ju 88 down

Hi

274 Sqn was a Day Fighter unit and did not operate at night.

274 Sqn flew an armed recce of the HANOVER - MINDEN area. Six Tempests Took off 16:15 Landed 18:10. Claimed 5 loco's, 2 trucks and 2 MET and at 17:20 F/L Hibbert shot down a Ju88, sighted at 3,000 feet south west. 274 Sqn ORB thought the Ju88 was on a Training flight and was a Night Fighter.

Mosquito's claimed a Ju88 at Groenlo, 488 Sqn and a Me110 East of Stormede air field bt 406 Sqn.

Regards
David
