P-51 part?

Hello,

Is there anyone able to identify and confirm this alloy part comes from a P-51/F-6/Mustang ?
10...
63071(?)
It was found along with numerous ".50" (SL - 4)

From a crashsite near Louvain-la-Neuve (30 km South of Bruxelles) and probably from an allied fighter crashed after the Liberation (and so the problem to identify this new one).

Thanks beforehand and best regards.

Well that is a bit of a challenge! You might find it helpful to post your question here http://p51sig.com/index.php

Re: P-51 part?

Well, nothing impossible as just up to yesterday, this crash remained unknown and... still does in a way.

Thanks for the tip.

Re: P-51 part?

Hi Frankie,

Thanks for your attention.
Valbeek is near Leuven (Louvain). Here, the closest city is Louvain-la-Neuve. I am afraid but any P-51 in your listing should match this one.

The first step should be to ID this part.
