Nice black-white photos - nice for whom?

These seem to have been lifted from Axel Urbanke's excellent publication, Luftwaffe im Focus. We should support the ORIGINAL publisher if we expect more of such quality to emerge. Original research is never cheap, then someone posts it on a website...

I urge all, even the "two-dollar-scholars," to support published research, but perhaps I'm calling aloud in the wilderness...

Re: Nice black-white photos

Very nice collection, thanks so much for the link.

Most I have never seen before, including Micky Sprick, one He-219, what appears to be an all black Bf-109 '5' that might be a K model, what appears to be a destroyed Fw-190D with stripes on the prop blade remnants, lots of nice images of Bf-109 and Ju-88, and lots of StammKennzeichen.

Re: Nice black-white photos

George,

I can only concur with what you outline: we have in this site ONLY the pics, with no information whatsoever…

That make you think, Tony, for example, that there is a black Bf 109 K-4; it is actually Bf 109 G-6/AS W.Nr unknown "Grüne 5", Oblt. Manfred Dieterle, 2./Erg. JG 2, Ludwigslust, December 1944. The picture was first published in Jet & Prop 3/03, p. 21, before being published in Luftwaffe im Focus 4, 2004, pp. 18-21.

This statement is valid for all the pictures…

Cheers
Marc

Re: Nice black-white photos

KrisJG3 and Tony. The images are far inferior to the original publication AND you don't have Axel's text. LiF and others will not be able to continue without people buying them. Make a rule: only download an electronic copy if you own the original yourself.
