KG 53 Photo
I have just obtained a photo showing a He 111 of KG 53, a horse & cart (usual of II/KG 53) emblazoned with the 'Congratulations on your 300th Operational Flight' On the back is written 'Quastel' but I cannot link that with any known pilot. Thoughts?

Chris,
"Quastel" is Austrian dialect (German = Quaste) and means pompom or bobble in English. Maybe a nickname for a crew member? Best Regards Norbert

Thanks Thomas. The fact that the photo is KG 53 and Quastel was Rauer's nickname are good pointers.
