Stuka dive brake from Crete
This Dive brake was found in Maleme area. The serial number is visible. Can someone identify this machine??? Does it correspond to the plane?

Hi,
Short version is no. Its not aircraft serial, but Dive Brake is from Right Wing (87.317 r.) and made in January 1941 (Fabr.Monat 141) by WFG (Weser). The Ju 87 version in production in early 1941 was the R-2 / R-4, the D-1 (Jumo 211 J) appearing later in spring 1941. My files are not exact enought to be able say approximately W.Nr., but it might have been apx. (087)6xxx or (087)7xxx. Ed |
